Leadership
This course is designed to explore the foundations of leadership in business and society. Students will gain an understanding of leading academic perspectives on leadership, analyze real-world examples of effective and ineffective leadership, and gain insight into their own leadership capabilities.
Building on these foundations, the course focuses on two major topics: First, it examines methodologies for selecting and implementing business strategies while considering the economic, political, social, and cultural dimensions of the business environment across nations. The impact of the business environment on managerial decision-making is also explored. Second, the course identifies the individual competencies required for effective leadership in companies operating in Latin America. These managerial competencies are analyzed across three categories: cultural, leadership, and attitudinal.
